• Unfixed bugs in Scrabble3D application.Datum31.08.2020 20:08

But nothing is perfect yet.
More to investigate...

Unlike Windows, it is not possible to drag and drop files from the rack to the Scrabble board.
Mouse changes to a 'not allowed' icon on the Scrabble board.

It may be due to some error in the gtk package that was used to install with the Lazarus Free Pascal compiler on Ubuntu.
I am getting with the following 'warning' message of: Invalid source position for vertical gradient.

So, I played the entire game by typing from keyboard.
So, placing tiles would be possible only for Latin Script alphabets so far and may be other keyboard symbols as well. May be other characters would also be possible by copying them from the character map or from Unicode table on the Internet and pasting them in Scrabble3D application?

As any regular user of Scrabble3D application would know about it and so those whoever have played games in Scrabble3D application by typing from keyboard, it is possible to place tiles directly in only top 26 rows (A - Z files) irrespective of whatever Scrabble board co-ordinate labels that are used.
Due to a bug in Scrabble3D application, it is also not possible to place tiles on Scrabble board by typing from keyboard directly in columns (ranks) that have a '0' in them.

But it was possible to place tiles on Scrabble board by typing from keyboard directly in one part of the board and drag and drop them by using mouse to another part of board without any problem. That was what I used in the entire played game.
But sometimes if I do not point the mouse to a proper square when I drop the tiles by using mouse from another part of the board, then such misplaced tiles fall back into the rack, with the following error message of: gsignal.c:1207: no emission of signal "button-release-event" to stop for instance '0x3b8fa90'.

That entire game took 4 days to play. I and 3 other computer players as opponents. Computer played more and more slowly as the game progressed, just because of the fact that the process was simply running in a secondary operating system inside of that of Virtual Machine (Virtual Box) that was loaded under a primary operating system.
I think that all of CPU processing power was allotted for the Virtual Machine (Virtual Box) and that multi-threaded computer play as an opponent was allowed by default in Scrabble3D application. By the way that 4 GB of RAM was allocated for the Virtual Machine (Virtual Box).

World's largest Scrabble board:
Going beyond the original Scrabble3D application limits (48×48 size of board).

I never thought that I would be able to play this on the day when I downloaded Scrabble3D application (Saturday April 25 2020).
I modified with the source code and compiled it by using Lazarus Free Pascal compiler.
Modifying the board size and co-ordinate labels are initial and easy changes to make.

9×9 board with 50 tiles.
15×15 board with 100 tiles.
21×21 board with 200 tiles.
33×33 board with 500 tiles.
45×45 board with 1000 tiles.
Right now that 63×63 board with 2000 tiles becomes a reality!

Access violation error (segmentation fault problem) occurred during computer's turn when I compiled it in Windows.
But it successfully worked out in Ubuntu (64 bit Linux) 20.04 Focal Fossa that was loaded under Oracle's Virtual Machine (Virtual Box) in Windows.

May be that access violation error would be part of Lazarus Free Pascal compiler source code and not that of Scrabble3D application source code.
Saving of played games to files would many of the time get interrupted inbetween in Windows because those files would be accessed by another application. Such errors never happened in Ubuntu, as far as I saw, so far.

Some clarifications about your wordings in your forum posts:

Zitat von Scotty im Beitrag Tamil Scrabble
Don't find obvious issues with the dictionary. But since you replace every character my sanity checks don't bite. Some minor issues: I'm not happy with 1k tiles. It's easier to multiply the number (there is a control on top of the list) than shrinking. Maybe you have numerous rarely used characters that need a frequency of zero, which would multiply to n in that case. But even then, isn't it easier to adjust these zeros to ones? Perhaps I'm wrong and you cannot play classic Scrabble at all and need super large boards.

Besides this, may I use your name and email address in the header? Credits and questions belong to the author.

What do you mean by 'my sanity checks don't bite'?
By the way, why do you use 1k tiles instead of 1000 tiles?
Zitat von Scotty im Beitrag #75
>version of Lazarus IDE and FreePascal
Try with 2.4, not sure. And perhaps Lazarus ~1.0, but if you compile from source it might be not so crucial.

What do you mean by 'it might not be so crucial'?
Zitat von Scotty im Beitrag #77
Sorry, it's not possible to have a letter more than once on the distribution table. And actually I think it would over-randomize the game.

What do you mean by 'it would over-randomize the game'?

By the way, Bussinchen and Scotty, please just try out renaming English2020.txt to English2020.ssg and loading that English2020.ssg file in Scrabble3D application and tell me what happens in your computer.
More to come...|addpics|ubb-6x-0e38.png-invaddpicsinvv|/addpics|

Anyway that payment of Premium Tariff to this forum has been discontinued. It does not matter if registered members exceeds 250 then fees hike will occur at all. Why is this limitation and why the number of 250 and not any other number, round number or not? Surely that any actively registered and contributing people, administrators or not in this forum cannot answer to them and only people from Xobor Support forums can be able to answer for it.

(2) It would be good to have 2 separate racks, first rack can hold upto 10 wooden tiles for letters corresponding to the sounds of pure vowels and pure consonants + அ. Second rack can hold upto 5 glass tiles for letters corresponding to the sounds of combos of consonants and vowels. Exactly and only one single glass tile can be overlapped on top of each of other wooden tiles.

An interesting idea struck in my mind yesterday night.

As teenagers or as young adults, my cousins and I would play the cows and bulls game in English language. The player has to find the correct 4-letter (or n-letter) word thought by opponent player within a number of attempts (unlimited number, of course) but if 2 players play it, then whoever finds it within fewer number of attempts wins the game.
For each attempt, the player guesses a 4-letter (or n-letter) word and the opponent player gives clues similar to that of mastermind game, according to number of bulls (how many letters are present in the word in correct position) and number of cows + bulls (how many letters are present in the word whether in correct position or in incorrect position).
Number of cows (how many letters are present in the word in incorrect position) is not directly used in the clue but instead cows + bulls is used. Number of cows used in the clue can be derived directly by subtracting first number from second number.

For example, if thought word by opponent player is FISH,
and if the player guesses FIND: 2 2 (2 bulls, 0 cows),
and if the player guesses SHIP: 0 3 (0 bulls, 3 cows).

Note: if thought word by opponent player is NONE,
and if the player guesses ANON: that would be 0 3 and not 0 2,
and if the player guesses KNOW: that would be 0 2 and not 0 3,
and if the player guesses ELSE: that would be 1 1 and not 1 2.

We have played this with numbers provided that leading zeros are not allowed. All sorts of number sequences can be combined together unlike a language in which only valid words are allowed to be thought by opponent players and guessed by players.
How about extending this game to Tamil language? Since there are at least 247 core letters in Tamil language, even if Sanskrit letters are excluded from it, so that if it were played like English language, then except for the Tamil letters thought in the word, all other letter sequences in the word would yield 0 0 making it very easy for players to guess the letters in the Tamil word.

To make it more fun than even that in English language, I got this idea. The idea of giving 2 pairs of clues, 1 pair for consonants and 1 pair for vowels.

For example, if thought word by opponent player is மஞ்சள்,
and if the player guesses பஞ்சம்,
then for consonant sequence: ம, ஞ, ச, ள vs ப, ஞ, ச, ம: 2 3,
then for vowel sequence: அ, ஃ, அ, ஃ vs அ, ஃ, அ, ஃ: 4 4,
and so that would be:
┌ 2 3 ┐
└ 4 4 ┘

If thought word by opponent player is தங்கம்,
and if the player guesses பீரங்கி,
then for consonant sequence: த, ங, க, ம vs ப, ர, ங, க: 0 2,
then for vowel sequence: அ, ஃ, அ, ஃ vs ஈ, அ, ஃ, இ: 0 2,
and so that would be:
┌ 0 2 ┐
└ 0 2 ┘

If thought word by opponent player is தங்கம்,
and if the player guesses மயங்கு,
then for consonant sequence: த, ங, க, ம vs ம, ய, ங, க: 0 3,
then for vowel sequence: அ, ஃ, அ, ஃ vs அ, அ, ஃ, உ: 1 3,
and so that would be:
┌ 0 3 ┐
└ 1 3 ┘

In any game that makes use of Tamil language or any other Indian language, whether it is Scrabble or cows and bulls or words building, all vowels can be assumed to be preceded by the same null consonant. In my humble opinion, (unvoiced) glottal stop, whose symbol in International Phonetic alphabet is ʔ, fits well for this purpose.
Although it is not this way of combination, for the purpose of any game in Tamil language, ஃ can be assumed to be as a combination of ʔ + ்.

I leave it to the choice of other players whoever will be willing to play this game in the future period of time, whether க்ஷ can be treated and used as a single Tamil letter or as a combination of க் and ஷ,
and whether ஶ்ரீ can be treated and used as a single Tamil letter or as a combination of ஶ் and ரீ (and so that would also be for all of types of consonant - vowel combo Tamil letters in the ஶ் + ர as a combined consonant row sequence).

Once the payment of Premium Tariff for this forum to Xobor forums got discontinued, all attached images to any post in this forum which used to appear small and not much of space occupying at the bottom of the post now appears big and much of space occupying at the top of the post.
I am not sure whether the same type of thing appears to you or not. Awaiting feedback from you regarding the appearence to you of this post. I am not sure whether it is due to discontinuation of payment of Premium Tariff for this forum to Xobor forums or not.

No, it is not. I removed that manually by editing my post after it had been posted.
All attached images to this post had been automatically linked inline when the post had been made for the first time. May be that it happens for the first time only that happens only when payment of Premium Tariff for this forum to Xobor forums gets discontinued. Only test images have been attached to this posts in this forum.

But anyway if whenever an attached image to any post in this forum is placed inline, it also appears in the bottom of the post in the list of all images that are attached to that post in this forum, that are displayed along with list of all images that are attached to that post in this forum that are not placed inline.
It does not disappear from there, at all.

Never mind that attached images to any post in Xobor forum software from Addpics.com website page if they are in comfortably and in bulk uploaded there directly and placed inline, then automatically code is embedded at the top of the post or where the cursor was at the time of attaching the image in the draft message of the post. It can be removed manually.
I just simply noted about that right now.

That is nothing due to stopping of payment of Premium Tariff to Xobor forum software.

I am not sure about the another forum software, whether in Germany or in abroad somewhere else and elsewhere. Any forum by making use of Xobor forum software supports only Addpics.com for uploading of images and attach them to any post in that forum and it would be the decision of message poster whether to link them inline or not, if in any case that for some of them or for all of them.
Usually any attached image to a post in any forum making use of Xobor forum software through Addpics.com is always also displayed and shown at the bottom of that post in that forum too. And I wonder that if whether in any case that they would disappear from over thereby if they are linked inline and that and I wonder that if whether in any case that they would not disappear from over thereby if they are not linked inline.

What do you actually mean by unofficial editions? You mean that they are produced by other authors and not by released by Mattel outside of USA and Canada and Hasbro inside of USA and Canada?
In your list of languages in unofficial editions, Scottish Gaelic and Cyrillic Serbian are the same language each. You counted them separately, isn't it?

Perhaps that we should add the letter distribution and points for each letter in Tamil Scrabble both for Sorkalam style of play and Scrabble3D style of play in Wikipedia page for letter distributions. It will be followed by the other Indian languages as well.
I got hold of Scrabble3D application from the Wikipedia page on Scrabble tile distributions for different languages. When it said about Maths Scrabble I got the link from it, which I had been longing to play it for a long period of time and trying out with an experience upon it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrabble_letter_distributions
But in Scrabble3D application, everything can be tuned according to the taste of the players: board size, board layout, whether Scrabble board is 2D or 3D, letter distribution, points for each letter, number of tiles in rack and dictionary words.
But in Tamil Scrabble in Scrabble3D application, for 100 tiles, I made use of 90 frequently used letters and 10 randoms which will not respect frequency of each letter that is present in the dictionary and will be evenly distributed. Alternately that I could also make use of 100 random tiles which are generated by making use of computer program along with the points of each letter depending upon the frequency of each letter in the dictionary which will respect frequency of each letter that is present in the dictionary and will not be evenly distributed.
For Sorkalam style of play, it is all fixed, 17×17 fixed size of Scrabble board, 165 tiles of which 90 of them are wooden tiles for representing pure vowels or pure consonants, 55 of them are glass tiles for representing combo of consonants and vowels and 20 of them are blank tiles. Exactly and only one single glass tile can be overlapped on top of each of other wooden tiles.

Evolution of that Tamil Script from that Brahmi Script over the last two millennia, first of all I saw them in Madurai Temple way back in 1998 when I was just simply 10 years old:

Old enough, that 3rd century BC Tamil Script inscriptions over stone by making use of Brahmi Script, including that of most popular enough Tamil poetry work, that Thirukkural:

𑀅 → அ, 𑀆 → ஆ, 𑀇 → இ, 𑀈 → ஈ, 𑀉 → உ, 𑀊 → ஊ, எ, 𑀏 → ஏ, 𑀐 → ஐ, ஒ, 𑀑 → ஓ, 𑀒 → ஔ.
𑀓 → க, 𑀔, 𑀕, 𑀖, 𑀗 → ங, 𑀘 → ச, 𑀙, 𑀚 → ஜ, 𑀛, 𑀜 → ஞ, 𑀝 → ட, 𑀞, 𑀟, 𑀠, 𑀡 → ண, 𑀢 → த, 𑀣, 𑀤, 𑀥, 𑀦 → ந, 𑀧 → ப, 𑀨, 𑀩, 𑀪, 𑀫 → ம, 𑀬 → ய, 𑀭 → ர, 𑀮 → ல, 𑀯 → வ, 𑀰 → ஶ, 𑀱 → ஷ, 𑀲 → ஸ, 𑀳 → ஹ, 𑀴 → ள, 𑀵 → ழ, 𑀶 → ற, 𑀷 → ன.

Similarly whatever that to that of evolution of that Latin Script from that Egyptian Hierogylphs → Proto-Sinaitic → Phoenician Alphabet → Greek Script → Latin Script / Cyrillic Script only actually ever:

𐤀 → Α, 𐤁 → Β, 𐤂 → Γ, 𐤃 → Δ, 𐤄 → Ε, 𐤅 → Υ, 𐤆 → Ζ, 𐤇 → Η, 𐤈 → Θ, 𐤉 → Ι, 𐤊 → Κ, 𐤋 → Λ, 𐤌 → Μ, 𐤍 → Ν, 𐤎 → Ξ, 𐤏 → Ο, 𐤐 → Π, 𐤑, 𐤒 → Q, 𐤓 → Ρ, 𐤔 → Σ, 𐤕 → Τ

In features of Xobor forum software, it is good enough that any of inline attached and linked images to any post in any forum by making use of features of Xobor forum software, whatever that large enough images are only shown small enough in posted messages as their own thumbnails, they will expand only if they are clicked enough. I am not sure about the features of another of type of forum software, only actually ever.

From among that alphabetical system of letters that from that Latin Script (English Script), Greek Script (Greek Script) and Cyrillic Script (Russian Script):
Letters that are common to that Latin Script (English Script), Greek Script (Greek Script) and Cyrillic Script (Russian Script):

Scrabble with mathematical equations should be open to everyone in the world and not limited to speakers of a specific language, if it would be made popular with everyone all round the world anyway and if any tournaments are conducted with them anyway.

Scrabble with perfect squares and equally O(n²) dense triangular numbers are lot of fun to play with 7 or 8 tiles in rack but that Scrabble with perfect cubes might need furthermore tiles in rack to be fun because of the fact that they are rare enough. For Scrabble with perfect squares, I put each digit tile with equal distribution in bag but points of tiles are based upon frequency in dictionary, with more points for rarely used digits and less points for frequently used digits. Anyway that variation in frequency between each of the digits that is present in the dictionary is not much of variation in frequency either, just simply to make the play of Scrabble game within Scrabble board furthermore spicy enough. 2 points: {4, 6}, 3 points: {0, 1, 2}, 4 points: {5, 8, 9} and 5 points: {3, 7}. People cannot play this without the aid of any helper tools to be suitable for tournament play unless a player can by heart all such list of numbers by heart in memory and can recall from memory in an instant or an human computer can calculate such list of numbers in an instant.

Scrabble with Roman numerals is also a lot of fun to play with 7 or 8 tiles in rack and should be open to everyone in the world without the aid of any helper tools and should be suitable for tournament play. Considering Roman numerals from 1 to 3999, tiles {V, L, D} and tiles {I, X, C, M} should be in the ratio 1:3 as they appear in the dictionary. For Scrabble with Roman numerals, I put each digit tile with equal distribution in bag but points of tiles are based upon frequency in dictionary, with more points for rarely used digits and less points for frequently used digits. Anyway that variation in frequency between {I} and {X, C, M} that is present in the dictionary is not much of variation in frequency either, just simply to make the play of Scrabble game within Scrabble board furthermore spicy enough. 2 points: {X, C, M}, 3 points: {I} and 5 points: {V, L, D}.

1. Even in the spoiler there is no limitation other than maximum 65,000 caracters per post (tags included), I think.
2. You have to copy that text yourself and put it between the quotation-tags:

Like this:
text
Actually that I meant something like this only:
If the length of the text in spoiler tag title in this forum is too long, then part of that text in that title would disappear away which would exceed the maximum limit of characters that would actually fit into it:
In my own post of mine in the Word Puzzles thread in the General forum in the English group in this forum, I have intentionally compressed that spoiler tag title from its own original length to make it fit in into it.
And that is the point from where I was motivated to ask that question from me out to you in order to seek an answer from you out to me, enough whenever that during within current and present period of time, only actually ever.

Puzzle 11
Each word has two + two blanks.

You need to fill up with the same pair of letters to form a word.

For example:
S _ _ ur _ _ e.

The missing pair letters are A T.
The word is Saturate.

Here's an opportunity to sharpen our brain! Lets see who completes all 25.

1. _ _ i _ _
2. V_ _ lat_ _ n
3. H_ _ dw _ _ e
4. _ _ rses _ _e
5. P_ _ sev _ _ e
6. S _ _tim _ _ t
7. _ _da _ _ ted
8. C _ _kb _ _ k
9. Lo _ _i _ _
10. D_ _ tingu_ _ h
11. P_ _ dl _ _
12. S _ _ur _ _ e
13. _ _ p _ _ zard
14. Who _ _ sa _ _
15. _ _ at _ _
16._ _ od_ _ rk.
17. _ _ ma _ _
18. _ _ y _ _ rd
19. H _ _ rtbr _ _ k
20. B _ _ evol _ _ t
21. C _ _ diti _ _
22. An _ _ cipa _ _ on
23. _ _ rri _ _ lum
24. E _ _ agi _ _
25. Inc _ _ p _ _ ate

May be that in any forum that is and that would be making use of Xobor forum software, that limit in private messages would be larger enough than that in forum posts, isn't it?
It is definitely in post previews, before attempting away to submit the post out, I have just simply right now checked it and that out by myself and that is because no left side anyone's own post of anyone of forum information is available during and within post preview period of time, isn't it?

It might also depend upon the size of your screen, especially width and not height and if within any case that whether you are making use of wide enough PC monitor screen or narrow enough mobile device monitor screen.
In my above example, I intentionally made use of a very long enough title that would not even fit even in the longest of monitor device's screen widths and not screen heights.

In your forum post above, you make use of quote instead of quote for that forum tag to be not to be automatically formatted enough into parsing them whenever that your own post of yours is being posted into the forum ever, only?
I wonder if whether within any case that there is no pre-formatted tag into any forum software, as it can be done directly into HTML pages and that any forum software makes use of only some of type of website page rendering script as programming language code such as those like PHP scripting as programming language code. I hope that [pre] and [/pre] forum tags serve the sake and purpose for that during and within Xobor forum software at least and at the very least.

Oops, sorry that forum tag is only made use of to render pre-formatted text into a separate paragraph and not to avoid formatting of forum tags into parsing them.
Formatting of forum tags into parsing them can be easily avoided away by making use of inserting within a dummy non-space occupying character during and into forum tags, isn't it?

By the way, just curious about it, is 65000 character limit to any post in this forum is something that set by administrator and that it can be changed by them? Why is there such a character limit to any post in this forum if that character limit to any post in this forum is not going to affect the 100 MB of storage space that is allocated in any free and advertisement supported Xobor forum software in any way and in Mersenne Forum it was initially 10000 but that it was later raised to 16384 = 2¹⁴.
Why is it 65000 and not any other furthermore round number, binary based or decimal based, that has been and that would be. Does that character limit to any post in this forum affect the 100 MB of storage space that is allocated in any free and advertisement supported Xobor forum software?

How did you find out those mistakes?
By a computer program? Or manually? Or by accident when playing Maths-Scrabble3D against the computer?

Invalid mathematical equations like 18-9=7 (in 15×15 size of Scrabble board) and 18+5=13 (in 21×21 size of Scrabble board) were played by the computer against me when I was trying out a game of Scrabble of mathematical equations against the computer.
I found out 0^0=1, ∞>15 and ∞=∞+1 by browsing through the Maths dictionary word list through Scrabble3D application because that dictionary file had been protected by its own author, Jouni Tolonen. Just go to File → Word Search. Keyboard shortcut key for it is Ctrl + W. How did he generate maths dictionary with limited longer enough mathematical equations in them? And errors shouldn't have occurred in them if he generated them through computer program and he should have checked them out before submitting it to Scotty for uploading it on sourceforge website page.

I will post more screenshots of all such Scrabble boards in the future period of time whenever I find time and having completed my research thoroughly.
Right now accumulating all my points in its own appropriate thread only. There might be more mistakes in the maths dictionary that I can find out only by playing furthermore games against computer as other opponent players (only offline in the same computer and never online over a network connection) and against humans as other opponent players (either offline in the same computer or online over a network connection).

• Any Scrabble related forum should definitely not miss this out.
For the future period of time for me, a link to this thread in this forum could be shared in other Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp Scrabble related groups, if people are interested in solving any types of Scrabble puzzles.

There are no Scrabble related groups in Twitter, but it will be useful for bulk messaging by just sharing a link instead of preparing the full puzzle material every time over thereby.
Scrabble related spot the best play puzzles from the other members of the Karnataka State Scrabble Association (Bangalore Scrabble Club) through WhatsApp group:

Since Wednesday 22 January 2020 when I joined that group, after becoming one year paid member since when I played in D division (Newbie) division in Mu Sigma International Tournament in Bangalore on Saturday 11 January 2020 and Sunday 12 January 2020. It was the first time I participate in Scrabble tournaments, I played in many chess tournaments when I was a child between age of 10 and 12 from 1998 to 2000 and that to play in stronger divisions, that had more entry fees and more prizes also but that they were held on weekdays also for 4 days from Thursday 9 January 2020 to Sunday 12 January 2020. I had office on weekdays, so I could only play in D division (Newbie division) for 2 days on weekends only on Saturday 11 January 2020 and Sunday 12 January 2020. For the entry fees paid for tournament and becoming one year paid member of the Scrabble club, club tournaments had to be held once every month on a Sunday with 8 games played. Unfortunately that due to COVID-19 situation it never happened since April, and I played only in 2 of them on Sunday 2 February 2020 when I paid lifetime membership fee to that Scrabble club's president to become a lifetime member of Scrabble Association of India from the same prize money I won by securing 4th place while playing in D division (Newbie) division in Mu Sigma International Tournament in Bangalore on Saturday 11 January 2020 and Sunday 12 January 2020 and Sunday 8 March 2020.

Lay down the final blank tile to win the game. My opponent player played ATMAs / HOs for 11 points and lost to me by 1 point. Can anyone spot a better scoring move than that? It seems that particular play is not valid in TWL dictionary which was used for that game.

Some of this information had already been posted by me in 'Unfixed bugs in Scrabble3D application' thread in 'Bugreports and Suggestions' forum in 'English' group in this forum.
I am just accumulating left over information from my previous posts in this thread about maths dictionary related points from that thread here.

I do not recommend players to make use of useless operators like ∞, < and > in the maths dictionary.
What mathematical equations make use of ∞? Anything divided by 0 is ∞ and anything divided by ∞ is 0? I do not like using that in Scrabble boards.
< and > will allow players to form wild high scoring mathematical equations at their own wishes.

The maths dictionary that had been contributed by Jouni Tolonen contains invalid mathematical equations like 18-9=7, 18+5=13 and 0^0=1.
At least if a valid mathematical equation is played in Scrabble board that is not present in the maths dictionary, then it can be accepted by concensus of current human player and other human players. But if an invalid mathematical equation is played in Scrabble board that is present in the maths dictionary, then it cannot be rejected by the concensus of current human player and other human players.
I assume that human players will always play honestly enough and other human players newly downloading maths dictionary from sourceforge website page through Scrabble3D application or not, they might not have knowledge about such mistakes in the maths dictionary and so it will be an issue only with computer opponent players to enjoy playing any of such of types of games with, if I cannot find other sufficient enough human players to play any of such of types of games with, whoever will have enough amount of free time with them to spare with that.
0^0 and 0÷0 are indiscriminate forms and so any number on the right hand side is suitable for them and so 0^0=[something] or 0÷0=[something] are not valid mathematical equations to be included in the maths dictionary.

∜16=2 is the only mathematical equation containing ∜ that is present in the maths dictionary.
What the hell are mathematical equations such as those like ∞>15 and ∞=∞+1? Why not ∞>16 and ∞=∞-1 be present as mathematical equations in the maths dictionary instead of them?

How many languages has Mattel produced Scrabble in?
And what are those languages?

List of fun holidays at timeanddate.com:
https://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/fun/
April 13 is International Scrabble Day every year.
https://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/fun/scrabble-day
That page says that Mattel has produced Scrabble in 29 international languages. Is that correct?
But that there can be more new additions in the recent years since the time when that website page had been written.

But everything, board size, board layout, letter distribution, number of tiles in rack, points for each letter and list of words in dictionary can be customized in Scrabble3D application, and it is not a very fixed set of rules as in Classic Scrabble or Super Scrabble produced in any language by Mattel.
It is even possible to create strange variants like Scrabble with mathematical equations, perfect squares, triangular numbers, perfect cubes, Roman numerals, etc.

R. Santhanakrishnan and his wife Preetha Raghavan recently started mass production of Sorkalam Tamil Scrabble playing kits commercially and by someone else in Kannada followed by other Indian regional languages.
https://www.amazon.in/Sorkalam-Word-Boar...97222813&sr=8-1
But they follow modification to some set of Scrabble rules that I have already mentioned above in the previous post of mine in this thread and they cannot be simulated by Scrabble3D application right now until some source code is also modified accordingly. I created the dictionary for Tamil Scrabble in Scrabble3D application that can be best fit and that can be best played with the current source code of Scrabble3D application right now.

In spoiler tags, in Xobor forums either in forum posts or in private messages I am just wondering if it is simply possible to write very long topics without those making those text which exceed the character limits that fit over thereby disappearing away.
I wonder that if there is no quote button for private messages to quote other people's sent private messages to me automatically in that Xobor forum software.

I will not insist with you any more about it again.

Yes, that part of my post is off topic to Tamil Scrabble thread, but not to this entire forum.
At least it belongs elsewhere in this forum. Instead of creating a small new thread elsewhere in this forum specifically for it, I just wanted to clarify in the middle of my posts in other threads. It is good for you and for Scotty to adjust to it if only 3 of us you, me and Scotty makes use of this forum right now.
But if more people would ever read this forum, yes it is good to make use of spoiler tag to expand and contract the off topic parts of messages in this thread. Or move my off topic parts of my messages in this thread to a new thread elsewhere in this forum.
In Xobor forum software, it is a good feature that spoiler tag parts of the messages can be expanded and contracted and not like vBulletin board forum software where black marker is used for spoiler tag parts of the messages to mask off parts of written text in any post that can be used to hide away answers for puzzles, etc.

As you mentioned in the private message to me, what do you mean by 'exotic' dictionary for Tamil language? Because it makes use of different script for writing system?
Would you be interested to consider perfect squares, triangular numbers, perfect cubes, Roman numerals, etc. as 'exotic' dictionaries for them to be uploaded to sourceforge website page so that other users of Scrabble3D application will be able to play with them?

I can also next consider working out upon Hindi and Telugu dictionaries, for example, but there are too many letters to use in them. For best uses to make them work out, rack sizes need to be greater than 20. And that would form more short words, not allowing flexibility to stretch the words played in the Scrabble board from one end of the board to the other end.
May be that as in Sorkalam game for Tamil Scrabble, the words played in such Scrabble boards will extend only from top right of the board to bottom left leaving away other parts of the board unoccupied?

Problems with dictionaries like Hindi and Telugu (without the full Telugu word list in that Telugu dictionary website page):
(1) There are too many consonants, 4 variations each for sounds k, tʃ, ʈ, t and p, although second and fourth (aspirated consonants) will be rarely used, so will be the letters corresponding to the sounds of ŋ, ɲ and ɳ.
(2) As in Tamil Scrabble, even combos of consonants and vowels like ெ, ே, ை and ா cannot be separated.
(3) What about that for pure consonants? Unlike Tamil, in which ் is used for a letter, in other Indian languages, part of the letter is cut and it is joined with the next letter or that letter are placed tinily at the bottom right of the next letter. At least if glass tiles are made use of for combos of consonants and vowels, then at least the ் symbol that is made use of for other Indian languages can be overlapped on top of other wooden pure consonant + அ tiles.

Some of types of other Indian languages such as those like Kannada and Malayalam do not even have these many number of words in their word list in that same dictionary website page to be continued to be proceeded with any furthermore, i.e. for creating within dictionary and letter set for playing Scrabble game in any of types of sizes of Scrabble boards in Scrabble3D application.

Solutions:
These things cannot be done with Scrabble3D application right now, but some modification to Scrabble rules might be needed to provide with more flexibility.
(1) In my 2014 make of Tamil Scrabble with board and tiles printed on chart paper pasted with gum on front side and back side of cardboard and cut with scissors which makes use of front side or back side choice of each tile for each player. This is in accordance with choice of Tamil questions to be answered in Tamil school exams. In this make of Tamil Scrabble, a high scoring tile can be pushed away for low score by making use of back side of that tile. But in the implementation in the Scrabble3D application, that is not possible and a high scoring tile has to be compulsorily played for high scoring value to push it away on the Scrabble board, whether it is on a premium square or not. For other Indian languages, do 6 face cube tiles make sense?
(2) It would be good to have 2 separate racks, first rack can hold upto 10 wooden tiles for letters corresponding to the sounds of pure vowels and pure consonants + அ. Second rack can hold upto 5 glass tiles for letters corresponding to the sounds of combos of consonants and vowels. Exactly and only one single glass tile can be overlapped on top of each of other wooden tiles.

Even furthermore than that will be needed for other Indian languages besides that of Tamil because of more number of consonants but same number of vowels in them as Tamil. Non-Dravidian Indian languages have 2 less vowels in them as Tamil and other Dravidian Indian languages: e and o.

Please consider my uploaded Tamil dictionary from my Google Drive account...

That works for me as well. Updated the Sf.net now.

I revised the points for some of the Tamil letters and especially raised the points for some of the Tamil vowels to reward players with more points for pushing away difficult enough letters, especially letters which are even more difficult enough to push away than the hardest of all English letters.
Vowels are mostly used only in the beginning of any Tamil word because if they occur in the middle of a Tamil word, it will become a combo of consonant and vowel by combining with previous consonant in the Tamil word. But in some rare cases, such as poetry, in which rhyming sounds at the end of each line is important, vowels can also occur at the middle of the Tamil word and they will definitely be of interest to any Tamil Scrabble playing gamer, given that words from Tamil poetry can also be accepted to be played in any game in any Scrabble board and not only Tamil prose.

Now that with the latest update to the Tamil dictionary, it would look good enough to invite other human players as opponents to try out with online Tamil Scrabble games to play over a network connection and not only who are limited with other human players as opponents and other computer players as opponents who are limited offline in the same computer.
While playing against the computer, if points for these letters are too low, then computer will stagnate these tiles in its rack. If they were too high, then computer would play it in short words on high scoring premium squares. So I need to check out in keeping a balance between both extremes.

Is it possible to make use of semicolon character in any meanings of words in any dictionary files that are made use of by Scrabble3D application at least with an escape character, such that it will be displayed in the tooltip text that appears when mouse hovers over any played word in the Scrabble board?

Checking at the code DoWord() in udictionary.pas the word info/meaning is defined as everything between the first semicolon until the second (or end of line if there is no category applied). So answer is no, semicolons cannot be used in the word info.

Definitely that you mean that, everything between first equals and first semicolon (or end of line if there is no category applied) after first equals, and not everything between the first semicolon until the second semicolon (or end of line if there is no category applied).
This is because equals is the separator between word and its own word meaning before the first semicolon (or end of line if there is no category applied) and semicolon is the separator between word meaning and its own word category (or end of line if there is no category applied and it would be the separator between the current word meaning and the next word) after the first equals.

I am not able to send the zip file with you by e-mail to hieko_tietze@web.de because of rejections due to policy restrictions. May be that you have an alternate e-mail address with you?
May I know what it is? You could share that with me privately if you would want to and if you do not want to post here publicly.

Please consider my uploaded Tamil dictionary from my Google Drive account for upgradation to version 1.0.2 in sourceforge page.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qJUYLAp...iew?usp=sharing

(Pedantry that is not my Google Drive account, but one from my alternate e-mail address because I am running out of storage space in my Gmail but Google Drive account that is linked to my Yahoo! mail account has unlimited capacity. But only Google account has got cool features like location tracking with Google Maps, YouTube, Google Photos access to downloading mobile apps from Google Play Store on any mobile device, etc.)

These are the changes that I have made to it:

(1) I raised the points of A from 1 to 2, B from 2 to 4, C from 1 to 3, G from 2 to 4 and \ from 1 to 2.
These correspond to the Tamil vowels of அ, ஆ, இ, எ and Tamil consonant of ற respectively.

(2) I replaced all semicolons in the meanings of words by comma. Because semicolon is the separator between meaning and category (multiple categories are not made use of in Tamil dictionary), this will ensure that the tooltip text displayed that appears when mouse hovers over any played word in the Scrabble board will no longer get clipped upto the first semicolon of the word meaning.

(3) I changed release date from 01.07.19 (date of latest changes made to Tamil Lexicon dictionary published by University of Madras) to 10.08.20 and assuming that you would update Tamil dictionary to version 1.0.2 in sourceforge page when you read my post in this forum tomorrow, this will be release date for version 1.0.2 of Tamil dictionary in sourceforge page.

I have asked a question to you but I see that you have not replied to it. May be that it would have been too tedious for you to scroll through all the essays in my post in order to locate my asked question within there.

Is it possible to make use of semicolon character in any meanings of words in any dictionary files that are made use of by Scrabble3D application at least with an escape character, such that it will be displayed in the tooltip text that appears when mouse hovers over any played word in the Scrabble board?

• This game was played by making use of the MULTI dictionary at isc.ro (that is English, French and Romanian words all combined together, but with all words greater than 9 letters removed from that word list), but what is the beautiful English word to place in that board position?
Unfortunately my opponent left that game after that move was played with no show for 3 days, that played game was deleted automatically with no result. I did not notice when I accepted the game that noescape = off for that played game.

Can anyone spot the best move in this board position? My played game in league against Hema Madam. I think that I botched a winning game position due to unheard words and time pressure. I played a very stupid move SI / IKAT with a very bad timing leaving ZONES counterplay in triple word score and lost the game.

My third (last) game played against adjuster (Arpit). Can anyone spot a bingo over hereby to win this game? No more tiles left further within the bag. Cheating is not allowed.

Figure out the interesting move in this board position with the given set of tiles in the rack.

Lay down the final blank tile to win the game. My opponent player played ATMAs / HOs for 11 points and lost to me by 1 point. Can anyone spot a better scoring move than that? It seems that particular play is not valid in TWL dictionary which was used for that game.

What is the best word to play in this board position? Crwths is a computer program player for Sowpods (CSW2019) English (UK / International) language dictionary at isc.ro.

Figure out the best move in this board position with the given set of tiles in the rack.

Figure out the interesting move in this board position with the given set of tiles in the rack.

In any post in this forum, it is not necessary to attach any given image from addpics.com to link it inline, if it had been already uploaded to addpics.com through that website directly and not through this forum indirectly. I am not sure about linking images in any post in this forum from other image upload providers at all. Why need to use them, when addpics.com also owned by a German company as this forum software and this forum is convenient, and other websites will not store images there permanently or they need to be paid to store images there permanently?
I am also not sure about at all whether in any post in this forum, if an image that is attached to any given post in this forum is already linked inline at the time when the posting of any given message in this forum is done, then will it also appear at the bottom of the post in this forum or not? But for some of my own past posts of mine in this forum, it did, while for others, it did not. What about that case for those images that are attached to any given post in this forum are not already linked inline at the time when the posting of any given message in this forum is done? Scotty: I suggest making some final changes to the Tamil dictionary whenever you are free. For example, tomorrow is Sunday (holiday except when you have plans for outing or spending time with your family members).
This will not take more than 5 or 10 minutes of your time. I assume that Scrabble3D application checks for updates (periodically automatically and if requested manually) only if using lower version of dictionary or localization, and not if higher version is used, that is manually changed in the dictionary files in the unchangeable path of the dictionary folder.

After trying out many games of Tamil Scrabble with different board sizes and different letter sets with Scrabble3D application, I think that these changes would be good to be made on the sourceforge page.
That will be version 1.0.2. I have made these changes for myself in my computer and it will be good to reflect the changes to other people if they are invited to try Tamil Scrabble in Scrabble3D application by downloading that dictionary from the sourceforge page.

(1) In Tamil.dic, raise the points of A from 1 to 2. Raise the points of B from 2 to 4. Raise the points of C from 1 to 3. Raise the points of G from 2 to 4. Raise the points of \ from 1 to 2.
These correspond to the Tamil vowels of அ, ஆ, இ, எ and Tamil consonant of ற respectively.

This is done to reward players with more points for pushing away difficult letters, especially vowels which can occur only at the start of the word. However, in some rare cases such as poetry, they can also occur at the middle of the word and such words would definitely be of interest to Tamil Scrabble playing gamers.
While playing against the computer, if points for these letters are too low, then computer will stagnate these tiles in its rack. If they were too high, then computer would play it in short words on high scoring premium squares. So I need to check out in keeping a balance between both extremes.

(2) Replace all semicolons in the meanings of words by some other symbol, say comma. Or that making use of semicolon with an escaped character if it would be possible in the meanings of all words in the Tamil dictionary in the Scrabble3D application would also be good enough. Because semicolon is the separator between meaning and category (multiple categories are not made use of in Tamil dictionary), the tooltip text displayed when mouse hovers over any played word in the Scrabble board stops at the first semicolon of the word meaning.
It would be good to have word meanings succinctly displayed instead of a verbose one. That would be with the primary meaning of the word shown, instead of all meanings of the words comma separated and arranged alphabetically like I had done in the Tamil dictionary by making use of python script as a computer program.

A word can have all meanings and it would be good if all meanings are shown compactly instead of something like an essay, especially for short words. Anyway that meanings of words are only secondary and they can be useful to people whoever want to do research on that (complete meanings of words would be available in Tamil Lexicon dictionary website that has been published by University of Madras). Primary thing is validity of words played in Scrabble board and most language dictionaries prepared by other authors do not have meanings of words at all even if they have been protected by making use of a key. I am wondering whether words with meanings can also be protected by making use of a key.
(Tamizh.dic I provided earlier contained all words without meanings, but I think that it is not worthy to discuss any more about that. Words with meanings would be attracting enough to other people to make use of language dictionaries in Scrabble3D application. Tamizh.dic, my version of Tamil dictionary file containing all words without meanings has no semicolon in that entire file at all).

Anyway that essay type meanings of words will not be irritating to any players who would ever be making use of Tamil dictionary in Scrabble3D application. They will be displayed as tooltip text only whenever that mouse ever hovers over any played word in the Scrabble board and it would be very much easier enough to get rid of that furthermore.
By the way that tooltip text disappears after a shorter enough period of time. If anyone wants to read that thoroughly and do research on that, I recommend them to take a screenshot of the computer screen that will be copied to clipboard, which they can paste on some image editor.

Unlike mobile operating systems, which can store upto 20 clipboard items at any time (and also any taken screenshots of the mobile operating system screen intentionally or accidentally goes to the top of the stack clipboard item), any installed version of Microsoft Windows PC operating system can store only upto 1 clipboard item at any time. I am not sure about the other PC operating systems at all.
What PC operating system do you make use of and what is the case with your PC operating system? Can you just simply please answer that question of me to me after giving a try out with your PC operating system? I do not have any other PC operating system with me right now for me to test that out by myself at all. Not even as an installed secondary PC operating system in a different hard disk partition to my own installed version of Microsoft Windows PC operating system, that would be Windows 10 of mine.

Semicolon and equals are not used as replace characters and so you can replace all semicolons by commas in meanings of words by one click, by making use of replace function in text editor. That and question mark (which is used for jokers in saved game files) are not worthy to be used as replace characters because it can cause confusion to the computer while saving and loading the saved game files.
Exclamation mark which is used for randoms only in displaying the remaining tiles in the game (because you want to keep them secret? They can be known beforehand by saving game files, along with random seed for predicting turn sequence of all players, randoms and generation sequence of rack tiles of all players) and not in saved game files can be used as a replace character without causing confusion to the computer while saving and loading saved game files. For example, factorial in Maths dictionary just makes use of that without any alterations to it at all.

I wonder whether it would be possible to make use of semicolon in meanings of words by making use of some escape character at least, or equals in words. For example, in Maths dictionary, first Unicode character ≡ as symbol was made use of and it was later replaced by making use of Unicode character ⁼ as symbol. Would it be at least possible to make use of true = ASCII character as symbol at least by making use of replace function in (not necessarily language) dictionary files?

(5) All 12 pure vowels and 1 special Tamil letter ஃ which is rarely used are made use of exactly and only once in same 17×17 board without respecting the actual frequency of each of the 12 pure vowels in the Tamil dictionary which would amount to more than one tile for some of the Tamil letters and no tiles for some of the other Tamil letters. And exactly and only one tile it would amount to for the remainder of the Tamil letters which do not fall into both of types of the 2 categories that I have already mentioned above.
In my humble opinion, it would be more fun enough to have different tile set each game in not necessarily 15×15 board each game, but of not necessarily different board size each game as it can be played each game in Scrabble3D application with customization each game in Scrabble3D application of board size, board layout, number of tiles in rack ≤ 20, tile distribution, points for each letter and dictionary words.

That would mean that top left quarter of Sorkalam style of Tamil Scrabble played game board would remain unoccupied, empty and vacant until long words are extended and played with difficulty.
At least when that not much of interesting words with vowels in the middle of the words are being played, that I have already mentioned about them as at above paragraphs of places before itself. Otherwise that played game tiles would only run from top right to bottom left leaving remaining portion of the board unoccupied, empty and vacant.

More details (which would require only small inputs from you on this forum itself and would not require to make any more further changes in the sourceforge website pages) to follow upon later.

If a picture is uploaded to addpics.com from this forum and removed as a picture attachment in this forum, then it will get removed only as a picture attachment in this forum and not get deleted in addpics.com.
Such pictures will be stored permanently in addpics.com and will get deleted from there only if we manually delete it from there. I am not sure if there exists such a feature to delete anyone's already uploaded pictures in addpics.com.

Picture files of JPEG, JPG, GIF and PNG file formats can be directly uploaded into this forum upto 2 MB in size even without premium tariff but what is the need for it if we can beautifully place them inline when they are attached to anyone's posts in this forum when they are uploaded to addpics.com and it offers unlimited amount of storage?
Also that 100 MB of free storage space in this forum for any attachments to anyone's posts in this forum that has already been exceeded in this forum several years ago applies only to administrators and not other forum members because Xobor forum developers want to force the administrators only to buy the premium tariff and to renew it every year. It is no longer renewed this year because there are no more active users in this forum except for me, Bussinchen and Scotty. Anyway that without the premium tariff, anyone can only attach file formats of JPEG, JPG, GIF, PNG, PDF and TXT to anyone's posts in this forum and other file formats are not possible to be attached to anyone's posts in this forum, isn't it?
